1. Scope and the short version
morse-code.org provides browser-based Morse code tools and educational reference pages. The core tools do not require you to create an account or profile. We do not ask for your name, home address, phone number, payment card information, or government identification in order to translate text, play Morse audio, decode an image, practice, or read the site.
Some tools work with information that you intentionally enter or select, such as text to translate, an image containing Morse marks, an audio file, or microphone input. Where the product says processing is local, that processing happens in your browser on your current device rather than by uploading the source file to a remote OCR or speech-recognition service.
2. Text entered into the Morse translator
Text and Morse code entered into the main translator are used to produce the requested translation and playback in your browser. Ordinary translator use is not designed as a cloud document-storage service. Do not enter information that you would not want to expose through your own screen, browser history, clipboard, or a share link that you intentionally create.
The translator can create a shareable URL that encodes message or playback state in the URL. A share URL is portable by design. Anyone who receives that URL may be able to recover the information represented by it, so do not use a share link for confidential, sensitive, or personally identifying content.
3. Image uploads
The Morse Code Image Translator reads an image with browser Canvas and JavaScript on the current device. The page analyzes graphic dots, dashes, spacing, and thresholded pixels locally. It does not send the uploaded image to a remote OCR API or generative AI service for recognition.
Your browser may keep temporary copies of a file in memory while the page is open. Closing the tab, refreshing the page, clearing browser data, or normal browser memory management can remove that temporary state. The site does not provide an account-based image library for these uploads.
4. Audio files and microphone access
The Morse Code Audio Decoder can analyze an audio file that you choose and, on supported browsers, can request microphone access after you initiate the microphone feature. Browser permission controls determine whether microphone access is granted. If you deny permission, the microphone feature cannot start.
Audio decoding is performed locally in the browser. The decoder analyzes samples, frequency, timing, and Morse groups on the current device. Recordings captured by that page are not uploaded by the decoder to a remote transcription, AI, or audio-recognition service.
You can revoke microphone permission using your browser or operating-system privacy controls. The site does not need continuous microphone access when you are not using the microphone feature.
5. Google AdSense, advertising, cookies, and identifiers
morse-code.org uses Google AdSense to support the operation and maintenance of the site. Third-party vendors, including Google, may use cookies to serve, measure, limit, personalize, or report advertising where permitted. Google's use of advertising cookies can enable Google and its partners to serve ads based on a visitor's visits to this site and/or other sites on the Internet.
Advertising providers may receive technical information such as IP address, browser or device information, page URL, referrer information, timestamps, cookie identifiers, or similar identifiers when your browser requests their resources. Other third-party advertising vendors or networks may also use cookies, web beacons, IP addresses, or related technologies under their own privacy policies and controls.
You can review or change Google personalized advertising choices through Google Ads Settings. You can also learn more about how Google uses information from sites and apps that use its services through Google's own privacy and advertising documentation.
We do not ask visitors to click advertisements, and an advertisement is not intended to be a condition for accessing the site's core translator, decoder, reference, or learning content.
6. Consent and regional privacy requirements
Privacy, cookie, and advertising requirements vary by location. Where applicable law or Google's publisher requirements require consent before certain advertising storage or personalization is used, an eligible consent mechanism may be presented before the relevant processing occurs. Your choices can affect whether personalized ads, non-personalized ads, limited ads, or measurement features are available.
Browser privacy settings, content blockers, consent choices, or other tools may also prevent some third-party requests from running. You can use your browser's cookie controls to review, block, or clear stored site data.
7. Precise location, children, and sensitive information
morse-code.org does not intentionally request precise GPS location in its core Morse tools. General location can still be inferred by network or advertising providers from information such as an IP address, subject to their settings and applicable law.
The site is a general-audience educational utility, not a child-directed account service. We do not intentionally build advertising audiences from sensitive categories such as health conditions, religion, ethnicity, financial hardship, political affiliation, sexual behavior, or sexual orientation. Please do not send sensitive personal information to us unless it is necessary to resolve a specific support request.
8. External links and third-party services
Some pages may link to external websites or load resources operated by third parties. Those operators control their own privacy practices, security, cookies, and retention policies. Following an external link does not make that website part of morse-code.org.
We do not set, modify, intercept, or delete cookies on Google-owned domains. We also do not intentionally pass email addresses, phone numbers, or other directly identifying personal information to Google in advertising requests.
9. Security and retention
No website can guarantee perfect security. We reduce unnecessary exposure by keeping key image and audio decoding tasks local to the browser and by not requiring an account for ordinary use. Network requests, browser extensions, operating-system features, and third-party services still carry normal Internet security risks.
Third-party advertising, hosting, and infrastructure providers apply their own retention schedules. Information that remains only in the browser is controlled primarily by the browser, the page lifecycle, and your own browser settings.
10. Your privacy choices
- Use browser controls to block or clear cookies and site data.
- Decline microphone access if you do not want to use live audio capture.
- Avoid putting private information into shareable translator URLs.
- Use Google Ads Settings to manage eligible personalized advertising choices.
- Use the regional consent controls shown to you, when available.
- Use privacy or content-blocking tools, understanding that they may affect site features or advertising.

We may update this policy when the site's tools, advertising setup, privacy practices, or applicable requirements change. The date at the top identifies the current published version.
